Big Brother

Neville slammed his hand against the staircase railing. No he could not let that happen. She would live. No Weasley would die for him.
"She's resting Neville, don't tear out your hair. Parvati made something and she took it without hexing her." Lavender Brown walked down the staircase and out into the common room. Her hair was a mess and almost rivaled what Hermione's was on bad days. Bruises scattered her arms and legs.  There was no Gryffindor left in Hogwarts wasn't hurt or ill.

"She didn't have enough strength to hex her." Neville murmured. It was now February and Luna was long gone. Ginny had gotten restless once trimester started up again. Every day she altered her uniform, adding muggle gear and got detentions. That wasn't all. She defied all her teachers and got cursed each time. Day after day Neville would head to the room of Requirement during his free period. To do so he would pass Muggle Studies. It was now mandatory and the sixth years had class during his free time.  Ginny growing up with her father was often picked on and Ginny being herself deified Alecto daily. Neville often heard blood curdling screams from that classroom. Most from Ginny and others from girls who were afraid of blood.  
"She took the curse for me Lavender. She took sectumsempra, the curse Harry used on Draco last year!" Neville yelled. Lavender sighed,
"We know, Neville she almost lost a bit more than one fifth the amount of blood than normal."
"More than Normal? So it's Normal to lose blood like that?" Neville shouted. Others in the common room had started to turn heads.
"No Neville but your body loses blood generally and for girls its more blood than you would lose. Therefore Ginny losing that amount of blood was not good. It's worse than any other blood loss."
"How do you know all this?" Neville asked her, Lavender sat down on the couch.
"It's all that Parvati told me. Her father's in medicine you know. He taught her a bit during the summer." Neville nodded. "Now goodnight Neville and stop shouting us girls need beauty rest and a bunch of fourth years got bruised up rather bad today. Everyone needs rest." Lavender got up and walked to her dorm leaving Neville sit and think. He got up paced for while and slumped into a chair. Hours later he heard whimpering and moaning. The common room was otherwise empty that night besides Neville. He got up and walked around trying to figure where it was coming from.  The sound headed up the dorm stairs. Up the girl's dorm stairs.
"Ginny," Neville breathed. All of Ginny's roommates had happened to be half-bloods and muggle-borns so all had left earlier that year. Neville approached the stairs. He knew it would refuse him and he would end up butt first on hard stone flooring but he had to try. The stairs slide down as Neville predicted when he walked up.  "Ouch, come on PLEASE! For Ginny!" Neville begged the stairs. A old Portrait smiled and asked him,
"This Ginny? Are you dating her?" Neville chocked,
"She's like a sister! She loves Potter, always has. Please she's hurt. I want to comfort her." Neville pleaded and begged. Ginny was the only person who kept him together once Luna left. To hear her and see her hurting tore at Neville. The portrait smiled.
"You're sweet. And loyal no doubt about it. You may enter Gryffindor Girls dorm sixth years room three only. Any other room and I will call the headmaster. You understand son?" Neville nodded and croaked thanks. The moans had turned into small screams as Neville ran up. The door of the seventh year girls was open as was Ginny's. Neville poked his head in quite afraid really. There lay the petite red-head writhing in her sheets. Neville had never noticed how bold red the sheets were. That's when it hit him.
"Her wounds, they've opened!" Neville rushed to Ginny's bed and muttered a small cleaning spell.
"Scourgify," It cleaned he sheets but Ginny still bled. Neville hugged her as she trashed and moaned.
"Neville?" Neville heard Ginny speak but he did not respond. The seventh year girls came in. Neville never left the girls dorm that night. He watched Ginny that night. She would be of age come August but till then she needed a big brother.
